A Note From Wheeling Nailer's Booster President Brenda L. Baldwin
The 20-21 season of game play has come to an end. That just means it is now the beginning….the beginning of a summer of working to prepare for the arrival of our 30th year, the team that will take us through that year, and a schedule that is more diversified than this season’s was…thank heavens!
We already have so much planned for this summer and have talked about adding more so our hockey family can stay connected…..because 4 months is a long time.
I personally want to thank each and every person who has made our club a success, no matter what your role or contribution. It may be that you have showed up for everything…or you have simply sent a message and said “hey, here’s a thought…” Every interaction is important and helps steer the course of our ship. You are appreciated!
Our transportation team will be extremely busy this week. We wish them all safe travels and thank them for their time, efforts, and discretion.
Our housing committee has their work cut out for them. We have a shortened summer break so we will need to work efficiently so the apartments are cleaned and ready for the next group.
Our summer fund raising activities will be starting as well….we are beginning our new fiscal year and needless to say, 20-21 was not up to par. These funds support charities, help us purchase the supplies and necessities for the apartments, and make the Wheeling Nailers a presence in our communities so that we can promote and expand the joy and benefits of hockey.
Our next meeting is Monday June 14. Location TBD Time 7:00pm. If you want to be a part of this fantastic group, please come to the meeting. The more the merrier! We have plenty of love…and by love, I mean work ….to spread around. Seriously though, we would love to have you!
THANK YOU ALL FOR EVERYTHING!
I’ll leave you with this….

SO WHAT DOES THE BOOSTER CLUB REALLY DO?
The Wheeling Nailers Booster Club is not just a fan club, we are involved in many behind the scene functions to help support the team, and here are just a few of the fun and exciting things the Booster Club does.
The Booster Club makes every attempt to make our players feel at home. Setting up the players apartments, supplying players groceries, etc. We do what we can to make our boys feel right at home!
When players need transportation to or from the airport, the Booster Club is able to assist by giving the players rides at no cost to the player
Let's go on a road trip! The Booster Club runs a bus trip to see our boys on the road. We want to show our support to the team even when they are away.
The Booster Club is able to do the majority of what we do thru our fundraising events. We sell refreshments at events like the Summer FREE concerts, and other local community gatherings. The Booster Club also sells and raffles off items in the arena at the Booster table. in the main concourse of the arena.
