The Boosters in the community for 2008!

The Booster Club is starting another year of community involvement and the Marshall County Relay for Life was the first! The Wesbanco and Friends group, headed by booster Ginny Friend, welcomed some of our members as we walked in the annual event at John Marshall High School Field. This was also a chance for some of our members to show their creative side as they decorated luminarias in honor or memory of those that have beat cancer or succombed to it. Ginny and her husband, Jimmy, carried banners in the Survivors Lap as both are survivors. It was a long, chilly night but fun was had by all in attendance. A goal was set for Marshall County to raise $52,000 and it was exceeded by $10,000 this year to be donated to the American Cancer Society to help search for a cure to cancer. We also participated in the Ohio County Relay which raised over $100,000. In the coming months, the club will be active in other charity endeavors. Click on the thumbnails to see the actual photos.
